For all those gamers who love fantasy magical games, I have great news for all! Warstorm.com has moved to Facebook! Yes you heard it right! The fast-paced magical game is now available for your gaming pleasure in Facebook. And for those who haven’t played it yet, Warstorm is a real time fantasy strategy game where you lead your army of enchanted creatures into battle against bands of other monsters and battle real people with their own army in Facebook. Battle simulation in this game plays much like other card games like Yu gio and Pokemon. This game is all about pure strategy. So to those players who are addicted to strategy games, fasten your seatbelts because it’s an awesome, addictive world of Warstorm.
At the start of the game, Wartstorm provides a helpful tutorial. Unfortunately, the tutorial is not 100% informative so I will explain some important concepts of the game here:
To start, you are given a squad in which you are in control. The squad consists of a hero and several units depending on the squad. You will start with the hero Lord General Pozak, a hero that can control 6 units in a squad, 3 damage, 8 health, and 10 turns to use. Lord Pozak is a strong hero in your arsenal especially at the start of the game.
Each unit you control has different fighting abilities and features. The Estian warrior, for example, is basic infantry who has the ability to inflict 2 damages per attack, 4 health, and 4 turns before it can enter into the battlefield. These basic infantry units are quite strong in the early goings of the game. Unique features of units in the game include regeneration, healing, double damage to specific units, etc. The Estian Skull crusher for example, is an offensive type unit that has the especial ability to retaliate when damaged by an attack. Warstorm offers a variety of different units with different abilities and special features (different advantages and disadvantages) making the game very tactical and interesting to gamers.
The unit of currency in the game is silver. It can be used to buy new cards and boosts which are used to increase the morale and strength of your troops. Purchasing boosts can be done at the alchemist and through the purchasing of new cards in the shop. At the start of the game you will be given two heroes for you to use and the available cards for purchase is the novice pack. As the game progresses and your level increases you will have more access to far better cards and boosts. The game becomes very competitive and addictive by that time. You will need to constantly adjust your card set combination and your own strategy in winning fights as well.
At first, it may seem that Warstorm is only winnable by those willing to shell out real money (players who use real money from their credit card to get strong cards and boosts). It is true that real money can be a big factor in the game. However, with the right strategy and mindset, it’s possible to succeed for free. Purchasing “Challenge Coins” in Warstorm on Facebook offers a number of benefits – exclusive card sets and campaigns, not to mention a faster route to items that may be bought with in-game silver. But you CAN both win and enjoy this game using sheer skill tactics and strategy! I consider it a sort of badge of honour or secondary challenge to succeed without using real money.
Warstorm is a dynamic game that uses card combinations and sound strategy. This game is very addictive and fun but complicated at the start. Once you get the hang of it though, you won’t be able to stop thinking of new ways to improve your game style and win more fights.
