DataGrabber UPDATE – Nov. 15, 2010

Greetings!

So, a lot of changes have happened the TPIR world.  It looks like dozens to hundreds of new items have been added to their database – with the promise of more to come on a frequent basis.   This is probably why you’ve found some items not appearing on any of our lists.  From what we can tell the major updates have occurred to the Main Bidding items and possibly some Showcase – pricing games seem minimally affected.   We were aware that these changes were coming.  However, we did not expect it to happen so quickly!  But not to worry, we’re on it and more determined than ever to make all the information available to all of you entirely free of charge.

I’ve also been made made aware of several sources where you can “purchase” lists.  This is entirely your choice.  But I would like you all to know that I will never, ever charge for TPIR price lists, tips, etc.  All of our gathered information will always be made available freely to anyone who wants to look at it.  It’s your choice to use my information or not.  But I don’t believe in charging for it.  There are always costs to running/maintaining a website like this one.  If you’d like to donate your time, money, marketing to spread the word and/or help with the nuts ‘n bolts of the site – that would be more than welcome.  But if you decide to use the site and the forum and the lists relentlessly without contributing data or a dime… I have no problem with that as well.  It’s your choice.  Always was. Always is.  And always will be.   It’s incredibly rewarding to me to know that I’m helping people and changing the competitive nature of the came.  So welcome to DataGrabber.org!  🙂

Here are some recent updates:

  • We are busy updating the list with all the new products.  We need your help!  Keep submitting new products to us via the Forum.  Just PLEASE try and ONLY submit items that we DO NOT have yet.  This helps us tremendously.  It’s just way more time-consuming to have to filter a 50 item list that ends up containing only 5 new items!  But either way, we will check everything submitted – that’s a guarantee.
  • Mod & List Editor PriceCheater TPIR has been working hard with me in adding a  video description to some of the product items which have been added to the pricing chart.  He’s been pursuing this data addition to the list in the hopes that will clear up confusion on similar items.  Many items now have the video descriptions in place – with more to follow!
  • Please join me in welcoming “db336” as our newest Forums Moderator.  He will be working diligently to keep the forum clean, neat, updated, and accessbile in an efficient and accurate manner.  Please say hello!
  • We’ve also had volunteers offering to lend a hand – thank you!
  • More updates to come! 🙂

Keep Playing, Keep Noting

  1. i think they should stop giving the price for the price is right on facebook it takes the fun out of the game, and is not fair the game should be played on honesty

    1. Hi Lorraine,

Thanks for your your feedback. I appreciate your point of view. Have a look at the FORUMS for a further discussion on this site and its function. I personally do not believe that this is cheating at all. There is no unfair edge or advantage given to one person over another. The site is easily accessible, searched and available to anyone playing. Using the price lists changes the style and type of game you are playing but it’s no less fun as you suggest. Have a look with an open mind and you may not feel the same way about it! 🙂
